HERE FOR YOU
The therapy space that we provide aims to offer the child the opportunity to express their feelings and experiences in a safe, non-judgmental environment; and introduces the creative process as a way for the child to access and get in touch with their experiences from within.
It is not always possible for the child to talk about his/her emotions in an organized and linear way. The creative approach uses a variety of objects and toys in the room, and any form of creative expression from the child such as movement, art making, symbolic play, role play, sound, to unfold the emotional process.
For children, play is one of the most powerful ways of communicating and working things out.
Play therapy provides a safe space to express feelings and find ways of coping with challenges.
Children receive emotional support and can learn to understand more about their own thoughts and feelings.
Sometimes they may play out traumatic or difficult life experiences in order to make sense of their past and cope better with their future.
Children may learn to manage relationships and conflicts in more appropriate ways.
Dance Movement Psychotherapy focuses primarily on expression and interaction through body movement.
